Penrose Library has Short-term and Long-term lockers. See below for details.

Short-term Lockers

Penrose Library has 12 Short-term lockers available to Whitman College students, faculty and staff. They are located Video alcove on the 2nd floor. Short-term lockers check out for 24 hours and can be renewed for an additional 24 hours.

Short-term locker keys are available for check out from the Circulation Desk. When using a short-term locker, patrons agree to:

  1. Keep all foods and liquids in sealed containers.
  2. Alert the Circulation Desk of spills or damage to the locker.
  3. Not store Penrose Library materials, unless they are checked out to their account.
  4. Not store non-circulating materials (e.g. Journals, Reference).
  5. Follow Whitman College conduct polices.

The replacement fee for lost keys is $50.

Long-term Lockers

Penrose Library has 164 long-term lockers available to Whitman College students. The long-term lockers are located on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.The long-term lockers check out for 12 weeks and can be renewed until the end of Spring Semester.

Students can check out a long-term locker key at the Circulation Desk any time throughout the academic year after signing a Long-term Locker Agreement. By signing the form, students agree to:

  1. Not place food, drink, liquids or gels in the locker.
  2. Not keep non-circulating material (such as Journals, Reference, Faculty publications, etc.) in the locker.
  3. Not keep Penrose Library materials in the locker that have not been checked out to their account.
  4. Understand that lockers will be checked by Library staff periodically and any materials that are not checked out or prohibited will be removed from the locker.
  5. Follow all Whitman College student conduct policies.
  6. Pay a replacement fee of $50 if they are unable to return the key.

Failure to comply with the locker policy may result in the loss of locker privileges.
